RICE WITH PEAS
(RIZ MAA BAZALIA)
INGREDIENTS:
- 1+1/4 cups rice, rinsed.
- 1/3 cup semne.
- 1 small spoon
salt.
- 2+2/3 cups of
water.
- 1 chicken
boullion cube(optional).
- 2/3 cup frozen
or canned peas.
STEP
BY STEP:
- Heat the semne first over a low flame and then add the
rice.
- Add the remaining ingredients, keep it over a medium
heat until it begins to boil.
- Continue to cook until much of the water has been
absorbed(about 15 minutes), immediately reduce the heat and cover.
- When the water has been completely absorbed and the
rice is still too firm, add about 3 tablespoons of water, cover, and cook for a
few more minutes.
- If the rice is too soft and water still remains in
the pot, remove the cover, increase the flame for 2 minutes.
